FAQ's
Here are some of our most frequently asked questions. However, if you don't see your question on here, click the contact button at the bottom of the page, and we will do what we can to answer whatever questions you may have.
Where is Start Over Rover Located?
We are located at 134 N. Barnes Avenue, just south of the Waterpark, Runza, and Bullseye's Sports Bar & Grille
How is Start Over Rover funded?
SOR does not receive any government funding, we are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We rely solely on donations, grants, and fundraisers to fund our rescue.
What does Start Over Rover do?
Start Over Rover takes in strays, relinquished pets, abused and neglected pets, puppy mill "cast-offs," and shelter transfers.
We pay for any and all medical care required, in addition to the daily care required for these animals.
We were the only rescue from across the nation that responded when the St. Martin Animal Shelter in St. Martinsville, Louisiana asked for help in rescuing a severely abused mother and her puppies from being euthanized. The mother and puppies are now referred to as "Sissy & The Bayou Babies."
When was Start Over Rover founded?
We opened our doors in April 2011 and, seven months later, we moved into a much larger facility. Our current home had to be almost completely gutted and renovated before SOR could move in. We were able to renovate part of our current building with a $50,000 Pepsi Refresh Grant won with daily voting by our online supporters.
How do I get involved?
We are always looking for hard-working volunteers and nurturing foster families for both cats and/or dogs. We also greatly appreciate donations, whether it's monetary or supplies that we use in our rescue on a daily basis.
How do I adopt an animal?
We have been operating since 2011. Since then we have re-homed over 3,000 animals.
All potential adoptors go through a stringent screening before we will adopt an animal to them. We want the animals to go to loving homes!
